Course Content
The National Curriculum for Key Stage Three incorporates 6 strands:
Why Study R.E.?, Christianity, Buddhism, Judaism and Local Faith Communities.
Western Religious Roots, Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism and World Religions.
Morality and Humanism, Gandhi, The Holocaust, Martin Luther King, Introduction to GCSE.
Written Examination - 100%
Exam Board: EDEXCEL
The Short Course involves studying 5 topics from a largely Christian viewpoint. So you will study: Matters of Life and Death, Believing in God, Social Harmony, Wealth and Poverty and Marriage and the Family. This is a wide ranging course and investigates issues which affect us throughout our lives.
You will support your College work by completing a range of additional activities and tasks. This will also involve watching relevant programmes and reading newspapers in order to keep up with current affairs related to the course. You will also spend time studying materials in preparation for assessments.

This subject would be useful to any student wishing to follow a career working with people, as it will help develop insight and understanding as to why people think and act as they do. There is a wide range of courses available for students wanting to study this subject at a higher level, ranging from advanced to degree level.
